Synopsis:
   $strftime(<format>)

Technical:
   This function returns the current time with a user-definable format.  It
   calls the library function strftime(), so the exact tokens available
   will vary from system to system, and the output will vary by locale;
   consult your system manual page for strftime(3) for more information.

Practical:
   This function is useful for extracting certain bits on information
   about the current date and time without needing to parse the entire
   string itself in script.

Returns:
   current time, dependent on format specified

Examples:
   $strftime(%d %B %Y)          might return "13 December 1996"
   $strftime(%x at %X)          might return "12/13/96 at 16:45:42"
